Hock - popping ???

Ok so this afternoon I was longing my 18 month old. We did walk and trot tracking to the left for about 5 or 10 mins and then switched. He did a couple bucks and then after that I kept hearing this popping noise. I stopped him after about half a circle walked around him then started walking him again. Then I noticed his leg. Ugh I wish I would have taken a video clip of it! But you could hear and see his right hock popping everytime he flexed and then applied weight to it. He was walking 100% sound, no limp, no short striding nothing... I walked him back to the barn and put him in the stall. I put a call in to the vet but havent heard back from him.

I have had arthritic horses and growthy horses but this just confuses me because it was like an injury (happend after the bucks) but it didnt bother him in the least after it happened. I'm going to go back out in a bit and see if there is any swelling or heat to it, when I got him settled in there still was none.

Thanks for any replies or opinons!
