Hmmmm. Mini already fuzzy

My minis is already fuzzy. I'm in Texas so its still in the high 90's. . I don't want to clip because his hair needs to be there in the winter. Oh what to do....

I clipped a little part of his neck, just to show how fuzzy he got, but he did come from another part of the US.

My pony is just starting to get a little fuzzier...mostly around the face, under his chin.... and it's in the 90's here in Florida. He does every year. I do clip him though... once he gets shaggy enough... as we have many more days that are hot than days that are cold. And if it gets chilly I will blanket.

OMG!!!! That mini is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E .
I believe it is the length of daylight that makes them start getting the thicker coat, not the temperature. My pony's coat turned significantly darker about a month ago, a sure sign that the coat is thickening up. She now has a quilted or tapestry look, due to the dapples seeming to be a different length or texture than the rest of the coat. I love the winter coats myself, but I can see how it would be a pain when the weather is still hot.
Maybe he would like a fan?
Good Luck with your little "plush" one.
