Hi i am new here and have a horse question

My name is Libby i have 2 ssh . one which is a 8 month old filly and my question is sometimes she makes like a funny breathing noise through her nose but not all the time so everytime i get someone to listen she never makes it but it sounds like a cold respiratory sound . Does anyone know what this might be?

Libby I'm not expert, but does she do it at certain times? Like after she eats, or plays a lot, etc. Every once in a while General Lee does it when he eats hay. I think it may be from the dust. If you're not sure and are uncomfortable about it call the vet and explain it to him/her and see what they say. Are horses have no one to look out for them but us. Use your judgement and if you think it's a problem call the vet. Don't worry about what other people say. You spend the most time with your horse, so you would notice something like that before anyone else.

when does she do it? My horse sneezes a lot when he eats his hay!

My mare makes dumb noises though her nose sometimes to amuse herself, and theres nothing wrong with her whatsoever. It could be a habit, but i would get it shecked out by a vet just in case...
