That's a TB if I've ever seen one.

She is a looker for sure. I bet she'll look even better when you are done giving her TLC and groceries! Is she a keeper then? She is such a cute mover and looks like she has the potential to be an excellent riding horse. Amen to you saving her.

I don't know if she's a keeper, ONLY because I already have too many horses. I have 2 ponies, a quarter horse, and another TB, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. Maybe I'll win the lottery and then I can afford to feed them all!

Here's some pics from yesterday. Molly got a shave and a haircut!

I don't think she can be registered with the JC and not have a tattoo. Is there another registry for TB's? I think she looks absolutely gorgeous. You don't have a whole lot of weight to put on her, and if the banamine worked, she could have just experiencing the beginning of a colic that got caught in time.

What about her story makes her a rescue?

As far as I know, TB's only get a tattoo if they have been at the racetrack, and she never has. She is a rescue due to to the fact that she was on her way to the kill auction around 150 lbs underweight. The pictures definitely don't show her boniness!

She is a very pretty mare ...my horse is a Danzig grandson and he actually has similar markings
Dark bay with four white socks and a huge white face

Good luck with her

Ahhh. I missed the part about her being auctioned to kill buyers. I think she has lovely conformataion and seems very balanced all the way around. More weight and she will be stunning.

It's truly amazing what you see being sold the the KB's these days.

I would bet that the name you were given is accurate. I have a TB mare with some related breeding and they have the same eyes/forehead, as well as the same withers.

I'm glad she's improving, I shall have my chubby TB send her fatty vibes!

So the vet came out to check her over yesterday, and she was about 80% sure Molly's not pregnant. She said it's possible that she's carrying very high and the foal could be very small, but probably not. I guess we'll know for sure in a few months if I go to the barn one morning and there's a brand new baby on the ground!

She also got her shots and her feet done yesterday too, so she's doing pretty well at this point. She's VERY affectionate, and has a way of wrapping her head and neck around me every time I'm in her stall trying to clean. That sort of thing makes the whole rescue process so worth it.
