| Senior Member+ | What is the purpose of this cholesterol? I have never heard of such a thing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wow! Thank's for the directions. I would have never thought of using a sock. That can probably be helpful since it's tight and probably won't fall out. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sounds to me like its a lot of time consuming messing about and as I have quite a few horses I'm all for saving effort. I'm in the uk where mud is mud and tails can get dreadful and mine all have good tails and once I get to 15 postings and can post URL's I will show you some photos so you can see the evidence for yourself. The main thing is NEVER to brush or comb a tail when its dry. Every time you do that you will strip hair out of it. Rather only do it after you have washed it properly with shampoo and then applied a liberal amount of conditioner and then only with a wide tooth comb. In winter if you apply baby oil on your hands and through the tail it will help it to repel mud and keep it detangled for a little longer. |

| Senior Member | For all my showmanship classes they like nice, long. thick, clean tails. So last year I started a process of keepin Sammy's clean, and now I have like 15 diffrent shampoo's, conditioner's and other random stuff like socks and vet wrap and all that. If I remember I'll post my long method for his hair when I get home from retreat. But I love how I do it bc in the spring I cut almost 6 inches off his tail!!!! |
