Regardless of "pervious posts", I would have expected more compassion from "horse lovers". Truly disappointed....

Roo, yes...because as populations grow, there needs to be land to support them or they will die of starvation, disease, etc.

Doesn't hurt us people at all. But The MUSTANG is hurting.

They DIE a horrible death through the winters because of lack of food to sustain them.

THAT is why we cull the herd and collect them. THAT is why the govt steps in and rounds them up and keeps the herds down to a minimum.

You want them wild? then buy the acreage that can house them all. BEcause currently what they run on ISNT" enough.

We love our horses, but again, WHO is going to feed them? WHO is going to house them? I would rather see them put down than STARVE to death, which is a MUCH horrible death than the Bolt! MUCH more horrible death than a bullet to the head.

At least they die within seconds. Starving can take WEEKS upon WEEKS waiting for the body to give up, if a predator doesn't finally end it.

Sorry. But you are underestimating how many posts there actually were. I am sad thinking about it...but besides buying from slaughterhouses, there isn't another option.
Please read Blister's post. Don't give us that attitude either. We do care, but there is really only so much you can do.

as population grows? There's so much concern for the survival of other wild life, but horses are not equally important? Mustangs are one of God's creatures and deserve to be here as well. Their population is so small to begin with, that setting aside land for them is not a huge task. Maybe people should stop being selfish, and think of what's best for the horse.

It's a hard topic and I can totally understand your saddness and your views...I feel bad about slaughter too, but it really IS necessary....it keeps them from suffering more..

Ok, HERE is the AGRICULTURE View on Slaughter.....

What happens to a pig who doesn't produce good Litter sizes? Good Fat Back Babies?

CULLED and SLAUGHTERED

What happens to the Dairy Cow who doesn't produce enough Milk or production drops?

CULLED AND SLAUGHTERED (by teh way McDonald's beef is mostly Holstein...I was shocked to hear that!!)

What happens to the Beef Cow who produces low birth weight babies???

CULLED AND SLAUGHTERED

What happens to the race horse who can't run out of his own way or the Lame, Conformationally FREAK in the backyard who can't even WALK let alone breathe correctly?

WE BREED THEM!

COme on people. Did you know, The horse industry is the LAUGHING STOCK of the whole AGRICULTURAL SECT!???

Because we BREED our problems then people wonder why the horse breeds do not improve very fast or very well.

And again, we aren't ROUNDING THE HERD for slaughter. There are still 28,000 wild horses they are planning on maintaining on the lands. It is those that are already rounded up. Those people who OWN Blm mustangs with Govt Brands, THOSE horses are the ones in danger the most. NOT THe 28,000 Mustangs that will still be running free this year.
