Lightbulb Help picking out a stallion??

Hey everyone!! I am breeding both my girls next year and want help picking out a stallion. Lacey is being re-bred to Zipped Up Sensation, didn't get any paint color with this years foal :-(

My other mare is Corona (Red dun) and is out of Dual Peppy. http://www.workingcowhorse.com/Default.htm :-) she looks JUST like him!
She is very athletic and does cutting/reining. I want to breed to something also athletic and PAINT (Not "Like a Diamond"). What are your suggestions??? This will be her first foal.

Up to how much of a stud fee are you looking at? Just Quarter horse studs or Paint too? What part of CA are you in? I'm in Southern.....

My vet has a awesome QH stud for $1,500...... but he's halter type with the little feet.... here's their website.

I'll look for some more....

Check out http://www.simplyexclusive.com/index.html . I'm looking into breeding to him next year. She's specializing in the all around horse. Not sure if his offspring have competed in cutting/reining. You can always email and ask her. She's an awsome lady to talk too.

Have you ever heard of Stallion Auctions? I just saw one in the paper that's closing August 21, 2005. The stud fees are halved..... http://www.southwestpinto.org/Half_p...ion_sale.shtml

here are a few of the studs in the sale.... I really like Impressive Equi Te...
http://www.badgertrainingcenter.com/ click on the Stallions link

One of the stallions I've seen in person, he's at a place down the street from me, neighbor's of a friend of mine... JET STORM - he's absolutely beautiful!!!! I can't remember if he's black or a really dark bay/brown, but he's a loudly marked overo.... can't even describe how gorgeous he is!!! ((( in fact his body and the paint markings are very similar to Impressive Equi Te, he's just the different color...

These two are from a ranch in San Diego, here's the website..... http://www.saqh.com/

Appy, where is the link for Jet Storm?? I plan on trying to do a breeders classic stallion auction again. It was an added bonus this year, the stud I bred to for this years foal got nominated for the Western Paint world breeders classic in Bakersfield!! I am so excited to get to show my filly this year!!! I def. want to go paint with this mare also. My (long term) goal is to have one halter/pleasure paint and one working cow horse paint. My mom and I show, breed, train together :-)

What sucks is that I love the stud Solsalia posted!!! but, my mom will not let me breed to an impressive bred horse and she pays half the fee! Don't you think Impressive crossed with Doc Bar would be awesome!!! Even better a red dun paint!

yeah... I like Street Legal!!! Too bad you're mom is against the Impressive line, even the HYPP N/N ones???

I don't have a link to Jet Storm, but I WISH I DID!!! That was the first thing I did when I got home after I saw him..... go looking on the computer and the horsetrader magazines for pictures of him... Couldn't find any. The reason I saw him... I was at a place I feed for ( I take care of their horses when they leave) and I saw him next door... The people were out and I started talking to them, said how impressed I was with him, he's beautiful!

I just checked out his progeny report.... he's a Brown Overo...
