That there is human competiveness and selfishness.

I'll show you attitude WITHOUT thinking of the horses best interest in this incident

How ironic, is that how some of those horses got there in the first place

I don't know where they are going to go in IA... The lower end of the market is saturated.

I'm full and everyone I know is full.

It's a bad time--the big barns are waiting for first cutting to replenish hay.

now I am gonna play devils advocate here why should IL deal with other states unwanted horses??

Just asking a question....

I agree that they should have given some kind of "grace" period not just bam you are done as of this minute...

all the anti slaughter people really should have thought this though better....

I am basically speeceless on this.. I have four so there is no way I can help but I wish I could

I am part of "All those anti slaughter people", and I wasn't present when the voting and discussions at the "round table" took place.

I would also like to add, that MOST of "all of those anti slaughter people" have been talking about what to do for a while now. At least, those of us that are out in the "real world" dealing with it. It's the "folks" sitting at the "round table", that are NOT dealing with it in the real world, that are not "thinking it thru".

Another aspect of all of it is the fact, that it DIDN'T just go "BAM", and end. As I've said repeatedly, this has been on the table for a very long time, and it's ONLY because alot of pro people never thought it would happen, and didn't plan for it, that they are faced with the issue of what to do with their unwanted horses now. when the bill was presented the solution should have already been on the table.. not wait for the fall out and then firgure something out...by fixing one so called problem they created a BIGGER problem..

There was no heads up it was up and running one day then no more... the six trailers waiting were in transist BECAUSE it was up and running...

BTW Stormy you are one of the few anti slaughter people that I KNOW that even owns horses.. MOst of them wanna push for something buitu dont' wanna do anything to help the fall out ..

Alot of the people who PUSHED for this don't even own a horse.. or any animal for that matter this is their way of making themselves look good..

You seem to wanna come after me.. when I am talking abotu YOU, you will know it I won't generlize it..

Oh, PeggySue....I couldn't agree with you more that Illinois could of/ should of handled this better!! I can't help but wonder and worry about those horses on those 6 trucks???? I may be anti, but I am with you 100% on that one!!!

I just don't think that "all those anti slaughter people" should be blamed for Illinois incompetence in this particular situation.

I wasn't coming after you PeggySue. Sorry if I sounded like I was.

It just gets annoying when everyone says "all" anti slaughter people, because I am a part of that category, and I work really hard to get people to look at and try to come up with solutions to the problems incurred when slaughter is gatting banned. I don't just sit back and do nothing, and statements like that imply that "all" anti people are that way, and not all of us are.

Again, sorry! Wasn't attacking you.
