Exclamation Help! My horse is sitting down!

Actually, not my horse. A girl in my area is having a hard time posting in the forum, so she asked me to post this:

**"Is there any health problems that one of the symptoms is sitting like a dog? My mare has been sitting like that for a couple of weeks and I am hoping there isnt a health problem that could have something to do with that. Any possible explanations?"

She can read the threads, but it won't let her post, though she has joined and is logged in. If anyone has any suggestions about that either, please let me know! Thanks a buch.

Um, YEAH! It could be EPM, West Nile, Any of the Encephalitis's that are out there,

Anything "neurological" can cause that kind of symptom....

i know a family who has a old horse with bad arthritis, he lays down all the time, and when he gets up, it takes a long time, so he kinda just sits there like a dog, but he isnt in any pain when he sites like that, atleast thats what the vet said, is the horse old?? he should get a good vet checking! good luck.

What has a vet said? If no vet yet, I'd call one and have her checked up.

EPM seems to be "spreading" like wild fire, either that or it is just easier to diagnose now.
