| Senior Member+ | OH you prob will open a can of worms on this one. BUT to help you with your problem, you need to have the vet out to give you some idea, maybe an ultrasound would help. Has she ever had a baby before??? Do you know? Not that I want to start, but why do you have your mare and stallion running together? What are you going to do with the stud when the mare foals? Have you ever had a mare foal out before???

| Senior Member+ | Get a vet out to see her asap and get a foaling kit together! Learn as much about foaling as you can (recognizing signs of labour, emergency situations, etc.) and have the vet's number handy when shes going into labour. Good luck with your mare [ February 11, 2004, 02:19 PM: Message edited by: ::Miss Kitty:: ] |

| Senior Member+ | Babies move right through pregnancy - however your mare wouldnt get that big until the third trimester of pregnancy (thats when the foetus does most of its growing) so shes probably well along. If you've had foals before you know the signs to watch out for for when she is about to foal. I would say a few weeks yet since there's no sign of bagging up. Lou ps could you please not type all in capitals it makes it difficult to read. [ February 11, 2004, 02:25 PM: Message edited by: Lou3 ]

| Senior Member+ | well, if she was naturally bred, her cycle would have fallen between March and September. SO, She can probably foal as early as...well...NOW! And as late as September. BUT, since you said she's huge, I would prepare over the next few weeks for a foal! Definitly get a vet out because most vets want to know the mare before she foals. Watch for her croup becoming jelly-like, bagging up, and milk leaking because then you will know it's about time!!
