Help me find a good laptop?

I really really want to get a lap top.
I cant afford anything to expensive.
And i dont know much about any good brands or stuff like that lol.

So if anyone has some time, do you think you could help me find a good (even used) laptop.

Even from ebay or something like that.

Please and thanks.

Craigslist is a great resource and many of those are new. You can get a really great Dell laptop off their site or use the business site for a discount. I got hubby one for christmas completely loaded Ispiron 1501 and it was about $580 for everything. Good Luck!

I was at Best Buy a few days ago and they had a a bunch of laptops for about $700-$900 new. Craigslist is also a great place to go. For that price range though, you are not going to get that much. Good luck

A lot of brands have websites where you can build your own, thereby making them cheaper etc by leaving things off you dont need, etc.

Try HP, I built one off there with all I could want for right at 700. And LOVE it.

Whatever you do, don't get a Fujitsu. Have had two of them, and both been horrible.. badly made.

Go for an HP if you can find one within your price range...

I would reccommend Acer. I just bought one recently (for $500), and I LOVE IT. I personally think it's better than some much higher priced laptops. I haven't had ANY problems with it. It works wonderfully. The only problems I've heard about them reading about them is that if you try to upgrade the drivers they'll crash. But it doesn't sound like you'd be doing that kind of thing.

Friend of mine bought the walmart compaq laptop. it is currently selling for just above 500.

She has had nothing bad to say about it. We compared it to the Best buy and Circuit city version and it is the same type quality. Just selling in a "different" market to diversify a bit. (same computer, different price....to grab two markets...those that don't want to spend much....and those that prefer to buy at "premium" places)
