![]() | I have a 6 year old gelding quarter horse. He is wonderful! i am planning to show him in some english and western pleasure and i need to wrap his tail and i need to know how i should do it! i looked at arabkids posts wich were good but i was a little confused. If someone knows a really helpful way that they know will work, please help me! im so confused on wrapping and all that and if I do wrap it, do i take it out everyday and condition it or should I just leave it in for a couple of months? Also what should I wash it with? I was planning on trying to darken his tail up a bit! So,if I do get a helpful hint for wrapping my geldings tail can I just wash his tail with rio vista shampoo for darker sorrels? I am wrapping his tail because i want it to grow long and thick and I really need the most effective way to do this! please help I only have about 4 months for it to grow out!!! please help me and attached pics would really help out!!!!!!!!! |

4 months might not be long enough to get it the length and thickness you might be wanting. While I would go ahead and wrap it have you considered buying and using an extension piece?

Here is the link to the thread with the photos: Tail Wrapping When I condition, braid and wrap a tail in this manner I leave it up for several weeks, depending on the weather and how well the wrap is holding up. I do not know your horse, how you braid, what you condition with or the set up where you keep your horse, so I cannot advise you on how long you should leave your horse's tail up. You will have to use your own judgement and go with what works best for you. Also here is a link to a place that sell quality tail extensions if you want to look into that: The Tail Store
