My arab has a long mane (foot or longer). I don't want to cut it's mane just yet because arabs are supposed to wear their manes long. So I was just asking for a few cool, good looking ideas of things I could do with a long mane. Also ways that I could tie or braid it to stay out of the way if I were treating a cut/irritation/applying medication ect. [ January 24, 2004, 07:33 PM: Message edited by: LordOfDaReins ] |

That's called a waffle braid. Lots of people around here do them for gaming classes to keep their horse's manes out of the way of their reins while they are running.

![]() | http://community.webshots.com/s/imag...8Ppnbam_ph.jpg There. A picture of her mane last summer. Its even longer now. So you can sorta see the coloring. It has the sun on it. [ January 24, 2004, 08:25 PM: Message edited by: LordOfDaReins ] |

Running braids are really handy for long manes also. Its essentially half of a french braid that keeps long manes neat and out of the way.
