I can't say I'll be exactly PROUD to wear a helmet. Actually I come from the days when no one wore a helmet for any reason... the "helmets are for sissies" days. So I feel really silly and conspicuous wearing a helmet. But from now on, I'm just going to wear my helmet, silly or not. That huge lump on my head was a literal lesson in the school of "hard knocks!"

i wear a helmet every time...

i'd much rather be able to replace a helmet than not be able to do anything.

I've replaced 5 helmets in the past 6 years...all were busted while riding "bombproof" horses. 3 of those i'm proud to say i was able to walk away from the accident...had i not been wearing a helmet I wouldn't be here.

When jumping or Eventing, always! When I'm doing Dressage though and my parents aren't around I don't wear my helmet.

I have to wear one, where I board my horse they have an arena and when you are under 18 you must wear a helmet when you ride. Even if I didnt have to, I have those occasional incidents where I happen to slide off my horse lol. I value you my perfectly inflated head =]

This thread is going well. Keep those votes comming. Good for all of you who wear helmets. If you do fall off and hit your head hard enough without a helmet... there is a chance that you may become retarded and not even remember your beloved horses name.. how horrible would that be?!!?!?!?!?!

I ride western. I wear a helmet, its as simple as if you want to see your famly again if you take a bad spill. Idk, i could go on forever but I'm sure id start something, this is a touchy subject for me.
