Hello from Alberta!

Hey all,

I have been lurking for a couple weeks. I had stumbled across the forum looking for used tack and lo and behold I am still here!

The community seems wonderful here, lots to look at, read and learn. I am delighted to make the first step into becoming a part of it.

A brief Bio:
I am in my mid twenties, I ride English predominantly now, it is strictly a preference as I am more comfortable in my wee little English saddle. I do a lot of trail riding, and in addition to that I am really interested in jumping & eventing. It has always been my passion ever since I was a little kid.
However, I am a greenie as I went away to college for several years and didn’t have the opportunity to even begin to try eventing until I was finished.

I have two mares, one is 13, the other is three. My eldest mare is a Quarter Horse, shes honest and sweet and brave, but is not really all that physically capable of doing many of the things I would like her to do. However she can be a real star and definitely gives me her best on the event course. (the Dressage aspect however… )

So, because of this I bought a yearling CWB mare a couple of years ago. She is now three, athletic and sweet. She is just finishing up with some basic training, and then she will be back into my hands to put some miles on her. It is all going to be kept pretty light and pretty simple. I have no ambitions to jump her this year, and will likely start her out lightly next year.

Anyway, I tried to keep it brief.

Wonderful to be here!

Welcome! I hope HGS becomes a happy place to visit and chat for you, like it has for so many of us. There are a lot of us from Alberta too! I look forward to (and so will everyone else) seeing pictures of your mares.
