Heads up!!! ALL Members read!!!

This was sent to me by a trusted source. I highly doubt this has been faked. Can always page the man and find out.

***Matt Thompson, Georgia Department of Agriculture: 10 quarter horses,
all mares, were found in a pasture in Freehome, Wyatt Road at Hwy 20,
north of Alpharetta, at a private farm. The owner of the farm has no
idea who owns the horses and called the Department of agriculture to
help with the situation. The horses are in excellent condition. Two of
the mares, one palomino and one paint, have foals by their sides that
are also palomino and paint. There are also four bays, a roan
(red/white), and a chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. They are
believed to be stolen, and subsequently dumped on this lady's
property.
Three of them are shod and someone has taken good care of them. If you
could forward this email around with your equine email list, maybe
someone knows something. Thank you, Matt Thompson can be reached on
his
pager at 404-382-3238*, or email to his secretary Melinda Oliver at
Mwolliv@agr.state.ga.us***

Its so scary to think that you could leave your horse happy and healthy in his stall or pasture and come back the next day/morning and have him be gone. Whenever I'm at work if I hear a big rig pull in (they have a big truck scale on the property) I poke my head out a window where no one can see me to make sure all horses stay in the barn and no one goes in there. If someone enters the barn I catch up with them and give a very curtious but suspicious "Hi, can I help you?"

I know PaintedPNH. It is a scary thought. My horses are pastured right near the highway, and anyone could halter them up and take them away. I kinda have to put it in God's hands for issues like that! I don't worry myself over it, but I am certainly always watchfully concerned.

Thanks for posting that Jessie.
I always worry about my horses getting stolen. I used to board at a barn where, in the middle of the night some one backed up to a $50,000 trailer, hooked up to it and proceeded to steal two horses out of the barn, one fresian stud and a QH mare, both worth over $20,000. All told, they got away with over a $100,000 between the trailer, horses and all the tack in the trailer.
