A horse at my barn got abandoned by her owners, had a major eye infection, and has gained lots of weight. She was handed over to me to train and take care of untill something could be figured out. I cured her eye infection and i have cleaned her up. I am starting her training rides this week, but I am having a problem with her ground manners. she gets really excited and trys to rush ahead of me when leading, which is fine i can fix that, but sometimes when she gets too excited she throws her head up really high in the air acting as if someone was trying to hit her or swat at her head. its weird because she allowed me to treat her eye, so i didnt think she had an issue with her face. what can i do to get her to stop doing this??
