head correction????

Okay, so last night I was riding Legend and he was perfect (up until the end when he got bored). He was "pushing peanuts" as my old trainer use to say. His head was low low low and his trot was amazing. I didn't have to correct anything. Except... He tilts his head, mostly to the right. How can I correct that?

If he is tilting his head one way over another, it's probably because he is in pain some where, or is more built up on one side over another.

There are so many reasons he's tilting his head. It could be his teeth, his poll might be crooked, something in his neck might be out, heck, it can even be something in the hind end that's preventing him from being straight. Or, it could just be that he's got some tight muscles on the right side of his poll/neck that need a little work. Maybe you're sitting crooked.

What is his neck from the withers forward doing? It it straight, and then it's just his head that is tilted? Or does his neck come out of his shoulders off to one side? Does he bend his neck, even just a little, to the left, or to the right?

His neck stays straight, he just sticks his nose out to the right.

He got his teeth floated about 6 months ago so I would assume it isn't that, and the vet has been out within the past 2 months and she checks their teeth every time.

I just paid $60 for what turned out to be almost a two our session. I suggest getting one though, it might help.

Chrios are an absolute necessity around my barn. Your horse can very easily get something out of place by laying down and getting up, rolling, etc, not to mention when we put them in 'odd' and un-natural positions/frames when riding.

Having a Chiro out certainly won't hurt. You'd be surprised how many little things can be out of place/tweaked and how much better your horse feels and moves after an adjustment

If you don't know of one off hand you can always ask your vet for a referal, if that doesn't help, calling around to a couple/few performance barns in your area and asking them who they use may work also
