Well, if your mare was bred on April 22, but didn't ovulate for another 24 to 48 hours, then the ultrasound done on May 7th would be at 13 or 14 days. Personally, I have no problem finding a conceptus at 12 days, but others are a bit more challenged <smile>...I suspect it has more to do with the NUMBER of ultrasounds I do.

Uh...remember that follicular development is essential for pregnancy maintenance. So, relying on the fact that there is or isn't follicles for pregnancy determination is totally unreliable. Additionally, about 10 to 20% of mares will display estrus despite being pregnant, so teasing isn't necessarily reliable, either.
