In the picture posted, he looks a little malnourished. Not really too thin, but perhaps slightly, hard to tell without hands on.

Of course, since it's an old picture, it doesn't really tell you anything about what might be going on now.

Yep, I agree We really need to see current pics. It's not fair to the forum or your horse to start a thread with this title and an old picture of him. All young ones go through a gawky, teenager stage before they "bloom" Restart this thread when you have fresh 'now' pics of him
I would personally love to know how he is coming along. I know he had a rough start, so I'd like to see what's going on with him now. You really have my curiosity up anyway. We don't mind winter woolies around here

Ok well next bath Ill take some seeing as when he's we he looks best then you cant see the ibetween sorrel and grey color that makes him look like a pile of poop. the reason I posted is because I want to learn from my mistakes. Ive already got my sights on a new colt. he's a futurity reserve champion and got some good lines behind him but nothing really close up. in fact my colt's sire's line is the same as this colts dam's sire line. im not planning on buying just looking but you guys think im getting closer? lol.
The Colt (skeeter)

(him as a baby and his dam)

(never too cool-his sire-not fitted for halter)

(PrioritysRomanPayola-his Dam-of course unfitted)

right now most of all im looking for a filly. prolly somewhere in my area and payments are a must. anyhowlets move on lol

Cowboy's gelding date is set for next month (i've been putting it off...shame on me) as long as the vet dont cancel he will get gelded. he is started undersaddle (just putting the sadle on and walking him around with it on.) Ill be selling him mid summer when he has a solid foundation in WP and huntseat(he will be good just for open). he will be a great kids horse. he's good now but no onereally trusts a 'pre teen' colt around kids. i dont. he does need his angles agusted again. the farrier could only do them a little at a time. his paturns look funky but thats because he's cranked back on his heels (straight from the farriers mouth). anyways he string tests 16 hands and right now he's only 14.1 and a half (thats sticked on the cement), ive never had a 16 hander so I dunno if thats right. cause he's just coming two.

i don't like the confo of that colts sire at all his very awkward looking, but perhaps it's just the angle of that photo.

I don't know loads about conformation and I can see some strange things in that colts sire. If I can see them, they must be really obvious so I don't like the colt's sire either but maybe the experts would be better to give you an opinion.

WOW I see lots wrong with both the sire and dam. Starting with the dam... her legs look way to straight... The sire has a ton wrong with him. He is totally out of balance and his neck looks like a founder waiting to happen or has happened. What is that spot on his flank? Is there any chance he is a HERDA candidate? Sorry I see no improvement... keep looking...

I dunno if we can really judge daddy too well..especially his legs..considering he's moving...of course wierd snapshots can make anybody's horse look crappy..

According to AllBreedPedigree the sire does go back to Poco Bueno top (Poco Dell) and bottom (Poco Pine - known HERDA carrier) and Impressive (Impressive Image - N/H) on the top.

Dam - Impressive on top (Mr. Impressive - N/H).
