Has anyone on here tried the bitless bridle?

Hi~I had posted earlier on here about having some behavior issues with my
horse~I think I might like to try a bitless bridle on him and see how he does?
but wanted to see if anyone else had one?liked it?
Thanks in advance~

Hackamores work pretty well, I use one for the most part, depending on the horse. I use one with Rox cuz he seems to respond better than on a bit sometimes.. lol

Hi there,
I broke my young horse in using a bitless bridle as my dentist advised me not to 'mouth' him as he had some dental issues. It was not a hackamore but applied pressure to either side of his face when I used my reins. I did take him out on the trail once but did not feel as secure as I would have done in a 'bitted' bridle. I gave it to my sister who uses it on her games pony as he tends to 'lean' on your hands and brace against you when you ride him in a bit She thinks it is great!!

Hi there~I meant the bitless bridle by Dr Cook ~http://www.bitlessbridle.com/choose.phtml

The bitless bridle is I the same as what Joker1 used~it applies pressure to both sides of the face~Thanks for the input Joker~Anyone else have any experience with the bitless bridle?any opinions?

I tried one on my horse, didn't work at all. I had a kimberwick which was much better. Now that I ride western I found out that all I need is a snaffle even though before I felt that she need barb-wire lmao(jk). We have really started to click now since I am riding with a soft bit. (wow I just told my life story when all u wanted was a simple answer about bitless bridles lol)

I used to ride Sierra with a halter and two lead ropes for quite along time. She got very used to it and now responds with VERY small pressure on the bit - but it depends on the horse. What problems are you having with yours and where is it projected (mouth, legs, back, attitude, respect, etc...)?
