I was wondering if anyone has ever used this product STP ( Stop The Pain ) www.coxvetlab.com I'm trying this on Buddy to try and ease his pain without Bute. Since it is needed long term. But it to me still seems like he is in a lot of pain. I've tried herbal butes also, but he won't eat it. This is a liquid so I can give to him orally. If anyone has had success with this product, please share. If not I hate to waste my money buying another gallon as is is quite costly. Thanks for any info. |

Well this is definitely not good. No one has ever used or heard of. If I can't find something to give Buddy besides Bute I will have to start considering the unevitable. What I have been putting off. Having him put down. ( As I cannot have him in pain forever.) And I know giving him bute will just cause more damage. Is there any help out there?????. Does anyone know of anything else to give for pain long term.???? |

Have you tried any Devil's Claw with him? Uckele makes a Devil's Claw Plus, which also has MSM in it. I know those products are suitable for an IR horse, so would assume they are fine for a Cushing's horse too - won't swear to it though.

if you google "devil's claw liquid equine" or "horse" you should be able to turn something up. I sense your desperation and wish I could offer some help. I will say that I can't use bute on my aged gelding because of ulcers, but he is in need of pain maintenance medication to stay pasture sound. I use a product called NaviculaSaver, its a COX-2 product, and it 'claims' to have properties that help with tendons calcifying. (a lot of their claims seem rather lofty) I don't know if the anti-calcifying claims are true, but what I do know is that it works better than bute on pain management for my horse, its a little bit of a miracle and I'm glad I found it. Its frightfully expensive, I searched hard and am paying about $170 for a 3lb bag, but that lasts about 3 months. Its very delicious! My horse is impossible to get to take anything, and he loves this stuff... even if you do get a powder, you can always dissolve it in a liquid, or some sugar free product, or pureed carrots or something. The same company makes a product called InflammaSaver, and according to its claims, helps horses with pain management from cushings. I AM NOT A VET, I AM NOT RECOMMENDING ANYTHING. but perhaps it may interest you, and you should research it on your own, its vastly less expensive than NaviculaSaver, and the prices on the site are pretty much mrsp, you can find much better bargains out there. https://www.figuerola.net/store/prod...roducts_id=173 good luck.
