has anybody heard of this?

my farrier came today and he told me about this special "brush" it's not really a brush, he said it's like a horse hair mesh that calms and soothes the horse, he uses it on colts to calm them down. it is supposed to simulate the mother's tail since when they are foals they stand in the head to tail position and it is supposed to calm the horse right down. but i don't know where to find something like that and i thought that maybe one of you have heard of it or have one yourself?

yea, IF i could find one lol i'll probably call my farrier soon and ask about it. i wish i had asked where i could find one when he was here

Would it be a fly wisk? They're usually made of horsehair, about 18" of it, and have a handle, for swishing the horse with to shoo flies away. I'd be more inclined to say the farrer's mannerisms calm the foal; gentle grooming with your hand can set them at ease, too.

I'm thinking its a fly wisk as well, or sometihng similiar that they are calling a new name

I'd actually like to have one of those, a friend was riding with one yesterday and her horse was really happy it had no flies on it

There is no secret so close as that between a rider and her horse.
