Harold's first bath- surprising results!
well, this wasn't supposed to be a BATH, but it kinda resulted in us BOTH begin SOAKED. After finishing with helping my dad with truck stuff, i decided Harold, **** be a year may 14, was next to have his legs washed off, and bag baum (sp?) put on if he had any mud scratches. So, i got his halter on (cant BELIEVE how hard it is to do that on him..) and then walked him around for a bit, and he was bin an ANGEL. I had someone get the hose out for me, and i let him get a drink from it, and when he was sure it wasnt scary, i sprayed his hoof and stuff, and he spun around a bit, but was soon fine with it. I couldnt actually SCRUB them, because i was very sure the results of me kneeling down in front of him would be bad, so my sis came over and held him for me. Things got BAD. right away, he started rearing, spinning, doing anything bad he could think of. after a minute, my sis is just like"maybe your better off WITHOUT my help" so, i took him back, and as soon as she was out of sight, he was PERFECT again! every once and awhile, he'd paw real high, trying to knock the hose up to his face, so id let him get a sip, and once i was done with his legs, he looked at me all funny like "were done already?" so i turned it back on, and spent a lil while with him playin with the water, taking it into his mouth and spraying everything, walking next to it to get his back and neck wet, he even held his head under it so his entire HEAD was soaked! im just very shocked, ive never seen a horse who LOVED baths like that! i know horses who will TOLERATE them, but never one who LOVED them like that. Infact, he was prolly a lil cold by the time we were done, cuz the temperature dropepd a lil while he was being bathed, and it got a lil cold, but he still loved it! lol, im very proud of him, and atleast now know, that bathing Harold shall be VERY easy! Anyone else have water loving horses?
