Thumbs up Happy Hackamore! *pic*

so over the weekend i got a hackmore at the tack store bc we had a cupon that made it like $4, from $28. n e way i am desprately trying to get it darker (its like tan ) but my excitement to use it finnaly won over me and i used it yesterday

i set out some ground poles and then my friend showed up and i rode with her. chico waas a lil sluggish in the trot as usual, so w/e but then wen we cantered he lit right up lol. then we did the ground poles and he was being so good, he was right up in to bridle using his booty just like i want him to then he did a lead change in a roll back (he usually only does these durring exciting jumper shows.

so today i am gonna try jumping him in it i will get pics i promise

heres a pic of it from the tack store site:

Be very very careful with that. My girlfriend bought an identical one. The buckle at the front didn't hold it together. She ended up with a horse at a canter and the hackamore hanging round its neck only being held there by the chain underneath. Lucky she had trained her horse to stop from seat or it could have been a trainwreck.

She has to take it to a saddler to have a proper buckle put on.

You can oil it or using brown shoe polish? Would not want to get anything on the fleese though... We have a lot of black tack and use shoe polish.

I used one of these for years on my mare with no problems. She went very well in it. I hope it keeps working for you.

so i jumped him last night and he was perfect we did 2'6 as usual. it was nice bc i was getting him infront of my leg into the bridle (my trainer would rather me be steadying to the jump than squeezing and barely getting over the jump) and the jumps felt so nice

i got a pic of him in it:

so i was gonna get pics/video jumping, bt my dad had to cut the grass

That's a pretty severe hackamore. Be careful with it.

But I'm glad it's working well for you and your horse. Just be aware of its severity.
