Had my schooling round at the horse show!!

Ok so I went and did my schooling rounds at the horse show today. I got on her and she was BESERK in my flat warmup, but I worked her real hard then let her walk on a loose rein to chill her mind then did a bit more work and she calmed down (with Markie this means 1 bolt instead of 3 haha) Then we went on to jumping the fences in the warmup area and she was pretty good, she still wants to twist in the air so I really have to focus on keeping her straight. THen went in the actual ring and did 2 rounds, she didn't bolt in either of them and I only had to really back her off 2 times in each round which is good for Markie. She was really using her big stride today, i don't know if it's b/c she is sounder now or just b/c of the course. Sometimes I feel we have to gun it to make it down the lines but today I got a waiting distance in and could still hold a little in the lines (and she was be dumb and bolting she was just giving me a good canter) In between my courses we had a long wait and at one show last yr on grass as well we had to do this and for the secound course Markie came up lame so I am happy that she didn't come up lame! Course we will have to wait till the show is over to really get any hope up.
So I was real pleased, but now i have a question. Well, I tried to braid Markie's tail and I think it turned out pretty good. But I don't know if it is show quality or not so I am gonna post some pics of it and you guys can see. So tell me what you think.

I think the strands I took from the sides got a bit too big as I got closer to the bottom

Someone had done the pinwheel at the bottom just to show me, I pulled it out and did it again later (no pic of that) but made sure that I didn't get those sticky upies, and I fixed the end.

The other side
Oh and I didn't have any gel or spray to do her tail with today so it has a few fly aways but I would use the spray for the actual show.

Congrats at the show, i'm glad she is improving. On the tail..I would make it slightly tighter and she may not have enough hair to do a pinwheel, as I understand they are supposed to be tight.

THanks! Ya, my mom was the only one with me and she is camera impaired, so no pics but hopefully during the actual show either my dad will be there or a proffesional. I really want my round video taped to so hopefully those guys are there.

Well, just braided her tail again today, this ones is gonna stay in for the show (hopefully, if she doesn't rip it out) I attempted at wrapping it but I am so paranoid that it will probably fall off it's so loose, haha. And if it does you just know Markie's gonna wreck it. I got blisters today b/c I pulled her mane and braided both her mane and tail (well my mom helps me with the mane but still) Her mane is so bad right now, for some unknown reason she has TONS of stickie uppies, it's weird she has never had them before. they are just peices through out her entire mane that are too short to braid, I tried to spray them down but it didn't work so her mane looks probably the worst it has ever looked, sigh...
