Guaranteed Gold / Puchi Trap filly arrived this morning ...

Well - this was the shortest foal watch ever!

Just started to sleep in the spare bedroom and watch the monitor all night, last night, and she foaled this morning at 2:00 am, so I can put away those toothpicks I usually use to prop my eyes open!

A gorgeous, huge palomino filly with not a single white hair on her anywhere ... ... and a head to die for. She is such a stunning filly but when you get used to seeing all that white every year as they come out, it was rather shocking to get a plain one instead

So - this is the year for plain babies I guess. The unmarked bay Alumni Hall colt, the unmarked perlino Pearlescent baby and now the unmarked palomino filly from Puchi Trap

And yeah yeah yeah ... I'll get pictures shortly. Give me a few hours to get caught up on things around here ...

An unmarked Puchi Trap foal? Does that... even happen? I'll tell you what... I'll take her off your hands and hide her plain old self in my pasture. Then you won't have to look at her.

I suspect she's lovely anyway! Hurry up, you, before the pitchforks come out.

Wow.. unmarked, I'm shocked, but I'm sure she'll make up for it with talent out the yin yang! Congratulations on a healthy filly and a short foal watch!

You know - if I wasnt there, pulling the foal out myself, I would have SWORN someone snuck in in the middle of the night and stuck and unmarked palomino foal in there with her! And took the splashy one for themselves ...

And honestly and truly as much as I looked forward to having a splashy one with this combination each year, I am truly counting my blessings that the foal is safe and healthy and so is Puchi Trap. There are too many awful horror stories with foalings gone wrong this year and in years gone by - I am very grateful both are okay and doing well

Some times with palominos I think they look better without too much white as then the white mane and tail really stand out - particularly if they are a nice deep gold colour.

YAY!!! Congrats!!

This is a classic case of linkage. Dominant white is linked to extension. In Trap's case, it's linked to her 'E'. So 93% of her 'E' foals should have dominant white and 93% of her 'e' foals should NOT have dominant white.

Remember My Name was a/the crossover. There is a 7% chance that when Trap throws her 'e' that she will throw her 'W' with it. The overall percentage of him happening is reduced even more when you figure in the percentage of her throwing the 'e' at all (50%). He is a lucky boy!
