| Full Member | Yeah, if the horse likes it, I have no problem, but this pony hates it! It's her comb, so I can't really take it away, but maybe I'll go and bring horse books and websites that all say not to use it, maybe then she'll stop! |

| Senior Member+ | There is nothing better to remove thick mud and dead hair than one of those round metal curry combs... and two of our horses love the feel of it. I never dig hard or anything, and only use it to remove mud, but they LIKE it. SERIOUSLY. We never use it on their legs or face, just on the fleshy muscular areas. Now the palomino DOES NOT like it, so we never use a curry comb on him! We have a stiff rubber one that we use on him for mud removal, and he tolerates that OK. He has far more sensitive skin than the other two, apparently. He likes those grooming blocks (Slick n Easy? Is that what the brand name is?) So, I don't think the curry comb needs to be BANNED, just used judiciously and intelligently! To the OP: If the pony really hates it, point that out to her and show her nicely how to use a different kind of brush or a rubber curry, and show her how the pony likes it better! I agree that the barn manager needs to be alerted. BonnieM
