Growth on dog.

I should probably have had him to the vet a LONG time ago but I thought it was just a wart....anyway, it's on Cyrus, my pitbull and it's on his left front "elbow" area. It's about the size of a quarter and it never changed colour or shape.....it's looks "caluiflowery" but lately it looks more pink then normal. Im not sure what it is...he has an appointment at the vets...but does anyone have any ideas?

my dog has one on the back of her neck, exactly like you described but about the size of a dime. We have had it checked before but the vet said it's nothing, just a growth that comes with old age. He refered to it as a "poodle pimple". It's sort of nasty looking, but nothing to worry about.

sometimes dogs get callous like areas on the back of their front legs, from laying down...could this be it?

It sounds like what my old Cocker Spaniel would get all the time. Our vet told us they only have to be removed if they start to grow really big really fast. Or if they start bursting open. We had to remove about 6-8 of them for those reasons, but the rest we just left alone. I can't think what the vet called them, but he said they were very common.

My two big older dogs I have now have growths. They are under the skin, like tumors. The vet told me the same thing though. As long as they don't start getting really big in a short period of time... don't worry about them.

Our pit had those too. She had them on her belly and elbow areas. The vet said that they weren't anything to worry about as long as they don't get any bigger.
