Groundwork..?

I am planning on just doing some ground work with my TB gelding this morning...does anyone have any ideas on what I should do with him? Thanks!

Depends.....do you have a goal in mind of what you need to fix?

Doing "GROUNDWORK", you must have some idea of what you are wanting to accomplish.

Acceptance
deal with an issue
etc.

So First, you must decide what you want to work on. Be it just lunging for exercise to working on getting the horse to walk to you at a whistle, know your goal and set small goals to REACH your main goal. Know what you will need to do in order to get to that goal.

BW said it... you have to have some idea of what your doing, and a goal in mind. There's all kinds of groundwork from liberty work to lungeing to leading, backing, pivoting, etc. Goodluck!

Ground work is a broad topic, there are dozens of exercises you could do and it would also depend on what experience your horse has as to where you start. BW said it best you need to have an agenda and a goal you want to achieve.

Goals are good but I think that maybe you are looking to partner or bond with your horse and thats a good thing.
I would start with gaining respect, and control so ground work is a great place to start, but you will need to have a plan at sometime,so think about it and learn what your horse needs are and don't know and start your more detail work.
I hope this helps.
