| Senior Member | Ground work Ok, so when doing ground work i never know how to set up like canter or trott poles. Do you guys know the corrrect distance between them ? or maybe have a link to a page that has all the messurements and maybe some more ecercises for collection and flexing/bending? That would be very helpful Nadine

Walk poles in the 3' range Trot poles in the 4' range Canter poles in the 9-10' range. Adjust according to your horse's natural stride, and according to whether you want to encourage him to lengthen or shorten his stride. My WB gelding's natural trot stride is more in the 4'6" range, just to give you and idea of the variance.
