Talking ....Ground Driving... VIDEO!! -Finally!

Well...today I finally got down to the ranch.. I hadn't been out for almost a week because I've been doing homework and studying for upcoming finals *Cross your fingers for good results on tests!!*

http://media.putfile.com/Ground-Driving

So no one has ridden Miracle... There is one girl who will walk and somtimes trot him around while ponying another horse that needs to be walked out (recovering from an injury) but she hasn't ridden him either. So my Fatso horse has gotten NO excersize... lucky! So..we worked today...and he was SO SO SO BAAAAD The flies were bugging him, although I put enough fly spray on him. He kept swishing his tail and when we'd stop, he'd stomp his foot (that's when I know he's POed)..I gave him a good whack when he was being really naughty and then later tried taking off, so I did a one rein stop and got on him for it. He got a little better so we ended the ground driving on a good note...and I got on him and worked his butt off and he was then being really good.

Anyway, enjoy the video...and sorry about the sun glare! It was about 7ish and the sun was making it's way down...so there are a few nasty glares in there.

He looked good to me. I could not even see the cues when you were turning him at a trot.

I can not believe how far you have advanced as a horse person, with your skills, ability and confidence.
You have come so far in the last year Renee.

Yeah I know! I guess it's only natural for him to have an off day. He hasn't had one in the past 3-4 weeks and has been a doll. The flies really are bad where we are. Even though we're in the desert...we had our monsoon season and it would not stop pouring rain. The area where the ranch is is a little hilly and it was really hard to cover up ALL the standing water. The tack room has been envaded by flies..its disgusting. I sprayed flyspray EVERYWHERE in there yesterday and it seemed to help. The mosquitoes are too bad but I have been bitten a few times.

Thank you, Tim for your kind words. I've been working my tushy off to get this far and I really appreciate the feedback. I always know you're true to your word... even if you said I was really bad! But then Id just work on it even harder

Thumbs up

Talk about a workout! I get winded with my pony... I can imagine how much exercise you would get trotting around behind a big horse. I think you are doing a wonderful job with Miracle. Maybe you should make a fitness video Renee..... "Drop Pounds And Get Gorgeous-Ground Driving!"

I was thinking the same thing as April. Half way through your video an image popped into my head of ground driving Swayze like that for that length of time. I'd have to call 911 (Actually, someone else would have to do the calling...I'd be laying on the ground gasping for air with the horse looking at me like I was stupid.) Good job with your horse though. He looks good!
