Unhappy Great stud lost to Colic

For anyone who knows of the great QH halter stallion Touchdown Kid--

DEAR ALL,

WE WANTED OUR FAMILY AND CLOSE FRIENDS TO KNOW OF OUR VERY SAD NEWS. WE LOST TOUCHDOWN KID YESTERDAY. HE HAD SURGERY ON WEDNESDAY DUE TO COLIC AND HAD TO BE PUT DOWN YESTERDAY (SAT) DUE TO COMPLICATIONS. THE VETS SAID HE COLICED IN THE WORST PLACE POSSIBLE, THE ILEUM OF THE SMALL INTESTINE, WHICH HAD TO BE REMOVED. DON AND BERTA DROVE UP AND SPENT THE NIGHT WITH HIM WEDNESDAY. HE DID SO WELL FOR THE FIRST 48 HOURS THAT WE EVEN FED HIM DONUT HOLES THURSDAY MORNING. HE HAD QUITE A SWEET TOOTH AND VET CLINIC STAFF AND FRIENDS ALL TOOK HIM COOKIES AND TREATS. HOWEVER, ON SATURDAY HE TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORST. IT HAS BEEN VERY TOUGH LOSING HIM. WE'RE ALL TAKING IT PRETTY HARD AS HE WAS SUCH A HUGE PART OF OUR LIVES THESE PAST 8 YEARS AND WATCHING HIM BECOME THE MOST DOMINANT HALTER STALLION IN THE WORLD. MORE THAN THAT, TOUCHDOWN HAD A HEART THE SIZE OF TEXAS AND A HILARIOUS PERSONALITY---HIS ACTIONS SEEMED ALMOST HUMAN. HIS KINDNESS WILL BE SORELY MISSED IN OUR FAMILY. EVEN LITTLE TAYLOR ENJOYED GIVING HIM KISSES AND HUGS. HE TRULY WAS "ONE OF A KIND".
(statement released by the owners)

This is a great loss of a great stallion. bawling

I have never heard of this stallion, but I am sorry that he had to be put down due to colic. I'm sure he was a great horse, it always is hard saying good-bye to an animal you really love.

Touchdown Kid. Sounds familiar, even though I don't do halter stuff. (No Riding? No Jumping?) Its so sad when any horse dies... It must be really hard consindering all that extra time and love put into him to make him a champion.

I'm so sorry to hear of the death of a great stallion. My condolences are with the owners. Is this the horse you are talking about?

Touchdown Kid

According to the article, the stallion is owned by Don and Berta Falcon and the stallion resided in Columbia Falls, Montana.

According to your profile, you live in Iowa. I'm wondering how you can own the stallion in Iowa if the stallion lives in Montana?

Yes that is the stallion and those are the owners. I never said I owned him, I was just expressing my sympathy over the loss of him because he was a great stallion and we've had several foals by him.

OH my that is horrible. So sad, that is a huge loss to the show world.

Jumpers - I know it isn't the case with Halter's because it wasn't her horse but just to let you know lots of show people own horses and stand them at stud all over the country. There is a horse in Northern Indiana that the owners live in Florida... Some people don't always have their show horses at the stables with them or on their farm.

QH Girl - I was trying to figure out if she owned that stallion or not. When I viewed her profile and went to her homepage, there was no photo or mention of the stallion at all. From the post above, it seemed that she was claiming to own him, so that's why I questioned it. I'm aware of the fact that stallions are stood at various locations away from their owners, but that's not what I was getting at.
