(-: great lesson today!

I haven't had a lesson in 2 months so today when I got the chance I jumped on it! lol..It went great..my trainer wasnt in 'lecture mode' as my mom n I call it and Honey was so well behaved. She was really spooky in the barn so my trainer suggested lunging her at first(this was before we decided I was going to have a lesson) then to get on her and that if I need any help to have mom come down and get her. Lunging was awesome! Honey had never been this good while lunging..I was so happy..then my trainer came up cuz she wanted to see how things were going and made a few good suggestions to me..by that time I was pretty much done lunging so I took off all of the equipment and got on her..my trainer was still there so thats when I jumped on the opportunity to have a lesson! Lol. First we worked on timing..when her front and back legs are going forward, on the ground and such. Next it was time to start schooling her leg yielding! She did so good, and was SO willing! We got a few strides of it one direction, but the other direction we didnt get any..thats okay though, least we got a few. After that we did work on getting her balanced at the trot as well as the canter...i was so excited! Usually we just do a few strides of canter and thats it..nope, not this time! MY trainer and I didnt expect to do any canter work today, but because Honey was so good, and my seat was on the money today, she said she felt that we were definatly ready to start getting her in balance in all three gaits...We also did turning on the forehand, which was alot easier on honey than the last horse I did it on! Lol..

Hopefully I'll get to go ride tomorrow..today felt so great, I want that feeling again! lol

Oh yea, the saddle I have been using was sold, so I rode in a different saddle that has air in it..omg..HEAVEN! lol..I think that riding in this saddle helped alot with my seat at the sitting trot..also that I was trotting Whiskey bareback so I had to sit right or I would have fallen off.

As nice as that saddle was though, I can't ride in it forever so next weekend we are going down to Pelham to get 2-3 saddle to bring home and try!!..AND we are getting Honey a blanket this week..yay! lol

I didn't get to gallop in this one, but maybe this week..muah haha! Lol..I know it wasnt a wintec, but im not exactly sure what it was..It was pretty expensive though cuz teh air was an extra thing she had to pay for..it was like 500 extra..i think it ended up costing her like 2200 and it doenst fit her warmblood anymore! It still fits her TB though, which is good..it would be ashame to go through all that and it end up not fitting any of your horses!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your lesson today. I know how excited my daughter gets when she enjoys a ride, so I'm pretty sure I can just imagine your face afterwards. Grinning from ear to ear I bet! (wow, I sound like such an old lady right now ).

Lol, I was until I was in the car talking to my mom..we got on the subject of getting another horse and I broke down cuz I thought that meant we would have to sell Honey...I thought that we would get mom a horse so that we can ride together and if I wanted a new horse, that I would have to sell honey...I'm glad I was wrong! lol. Mom told me that she probably won't get her own horse and that if I ever wanted to get another horse that we would be able to keep honey also, as long as I promised to work with both of them and the min I start not paying attention to one we would sell it...once she told me that I had a grin from ear to ear again..!!..although I was still kicking myself for even THINKING about getting a new horse..I love Honey to death and no horse will EVER replace her!

..and by the way.you dont sound like an old lady

I know..!!! I don't even know how the subject came up but I feel better knowing that even if I do get another horse, I will still be able to keep Honey..If i wasnt able to, I would never get a new horse! Lol

You're so lucky! I wish I could ride almost every day like you seem to be able to.
Congrats on having such a great lesson!
