OK MM, but I was thinking that maybe they have good depth perception from a distance because they can use both eyes, but at closer distance, don't they sometimes have to **** their head (like a chicken) because they cannot see directly in front of themselves (only at the shortest distances though).

Horses have a HUGE lack of depth perception...its just not there. Thats why they freak out at a 1/2 in. deep puddle. At the MN State Fairgrounds the Collisium has white walls and all the barrels and poles and what not are white and I hate running there because Snickers will be running and then all of a sudden go "OMG There is a barrel here!! TURN!!!"

sammy....my next comp...is 19th of march. its the same ODE.....so we will see how it goes.

i have another jumping lesson with that trainer tomorrow and then again on thurs. im really excited!
