| Senior Member+ | Great dressage lesson yesterday! If I were doing a test I'd have like, won!!
Yesterday I had THE most awesome dressage lesson ever. Basicly we worked on walking, trotting and cantering in straight lines and circles... the basics really, but we went beyond the basics for that by working on perfecting it. In other words, straight as an arrow lines and perfect circles. Believe it or not, I actually did it!! I made THE straightest lines and THE most perfect circles, I was so happy! My instructor was just like "WOW, look at your tracks!!! They're PERFECT!!" (That's what we were doing, was I would do a little pattern than evaluate my tracks and see how on course I was) My instructor is a USDF judge and she said that for ALL (except my warm up one, lol) of my down the center line and diagnol straight shots she'd have given me a good 7 score. (Apparently her averadge is 4 and her generous is 5!!) Plus I did really well on the circles, both for the trot and canter. I was so happy! I always like it when I wow my instructor, lol.She didn't have a lesson after me so we sat and talked for awhile (me on the horse, her on a stool) and talked about the World Cup, which she had gone to watch the entire thing, every night, plus paying to get in early to watch the warm ups, plus listening to the head phones... so I got to hear all about it, which was really neat. She gets gitty like a little kid talking about dressage! lol. Lol, then she had me come inside and had me try on pairs of riding breeches! She had some extras laying around and wondered if I wanted them, so I got a pair of breeches too! It was a great day, I had fun and I love it when I have time afterwards to just chat with her. What a fun time.

Lol, yeah I am, I finally found out I'm a good rider... I wasn't riding my horse though, I was using one of hers. I'm not thrilled with having to haul my horse over for every lesson I take, so I ride hers mostly (not a "lesson" horse, but just one of hers... whichever one she decides to let me ride) and then every once in awhile bring mine over to get an evaluation for how I'm doing with her.
