Nopers! but I like to be able to show in the registry's shows myself, so as I said before, has to be reg'd (mine is)....also for breeding! But that is NOT sayin a reg'd horse is always better than an unreg'd one, goes back and forth for sure!!!

i wouldn't mind having a registered horse with awesome blood lines, BUT, can't afford them, so i will stick to all 4 of my grade horses. they are all special in their own way!!

horse luvr83, you would be surprised at how affordable a registered horse can be!
Just take your time keep looking...the right one will turn up.
I bought my first registered horse on the "so much down and so much a month" plan, waaaaaay back when paying a thousand dollars or more was an unheard of amount among my horse owning friends. They thought I was crazy when they heard what I was paying for the gelding I was buying!
Well, those that didn't think I was crazy thought that I was trying to become, or turning into, a ritzy, registered horse snob.
The gelding turned into a super show horse. I never regretted the purchase and in all honestly that registered horse opened a whole new aspect of the horse world to me! I met and talked to people I had only read about, learned and experienced so much more than I would have if I had not bought my first registered horse.
So don't think that you can't afford one and take it from this old woman...when it comes to horses...never say never!!!

I was not going to say anything but I would like to point out two things the original poster missed.

Being registered does not equate to being purebred. Second since under the WBFSH you cannot be registered in more than 1 registry ( there are certain exceptions but not if the registry is a member of the WBFSH) the correct terminoligy is registered and approved.

In my case he is not purebred ( hannovarian/anglo-arab) but he is "registered" Canadian Sport Horse ( birth registry) but he is "approved" AWS.

Emily is not registered. By her appearances, I pegged her as a paint of QH type. Especially with her massive butt.

i have an ApHC registered appy... but i have no problem owning a grade horse... For me it depends on the horse, not it's papers or lineage
