I love your saddle! What kind of pad do you use? Did you get the Austrailian saddle pad with pockets?

Tackaberry's are not new (at least in the USA) - they've been around since I was a kid . Back then there were very few western girths that had 'tongues' on them - you tied both sides. With the Tackaberry. you put the girth ring in the 'lipped' part and then tightened the girth like you do today's tongued girths. Pulled up as high as it is is not the position that you would use it in. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I'll try to explain it better.

The round part of your cinch actually sits/clasps on to the little arch hook thingy.. I have used this cinch before on a frinds saddle.. It was really confusing but as soon as I learned it it was so easy... I didn;t know it had a name.. I would love to know where you got it... I would like to order one...

anythow.. If I can remember you have to pull it either on top or under the slot in the buckle and then the opposite second time around... Then hook on your cinch and pull to the right hole... I'm not sure I can explain it in typed words...

Basically it was an earlier version of using a tongued western girth.
