Boy this thread went nuts.

The horse *COULD* be splash. Any horse could be splash.

The photos most definitely show the same horse in every photo.

If she decideds to buy him based solely on his color, that is her discretion. I have complete confidence that she will handle whatever comes from that.

Thank you for that assesment, I agree 100%. I only wanted to know if the horse could possibly be splash, not whether or not I would be able to handle the horse.

It is the same horse in every photo. If you look at the dates stamped onthe photos, there is a 2 month difference in them. That is why his color is changing from picture to picture. It is called getting a winter coat.

The offense being taken in this thread over such a well-meant caveat is ridiculous.

The "bad" that could happen is very real... I know of a lot of people who have gone out and bought pretty Paints and palominos just because they liked the color, and overlooked the horse's training and their own skill level. And they've gotten hurt. We have no way of knowing whether or not YOU would do anything like that, so it bears mentioning... also, others reading this thread can benefit from it. I would think that you would appreciate someone else being concerned about your hide.

You are being quite snippy and rude to people who are only trying to be kind. I find that pretty sad- hope it doesn't put them off being kind and concerned in the future.

I totally agree with Jenje! I thought you were rather rude myself.
And just for the record... I bought a horse because of it's looks once and guess what happened? I had it for 2 months and it got sick. I spent $800 on him before finally putting him down. SO... it is possible for something bad to happen because of color. If he hadn't of looked the way he did, I would never have bought him.

I learned my lesson... I guess everyone has to learn it on their own, though.

My point is, that ^ could have happenned even if you HADN't bought him for his color. To each his own.

Besides, she never said she even liked his color. In fact she said she didn't.

Thank you, ACC, for helping me to discover the true color of this horse, and answering my original question without the need to offer up extra help, and for trying to keep things on track.

I feel that this would be true, if it was the original topic for the thread! I asked if this horse was splash or not, period.

As for being snippy and rude, I apologize if trying to keep my thread on track is considered "rude." I did not ask at any point for a skill level critique or a critique on my abilities. I asked if this horse looked splash. Period.

A member IS allowed to ask a question AND buy a horse with color the last time I checked FAQ.

Keep it on track.

While I'm far from a color expert, is it at all possible that he is wild bay with pangare? I thought I'd throw that out there.

What is a wild bay? Is that like the primitive color that say, a bay Przewalski horse would have?

I am really curious about this, if anyone has a picture of a wild bay, I would love to see it.
