Talking Good Weaning for Tuff Tuff!

I'm a proud mama, so I find the need to post a thread on how good he did! Probably no one cares, but thats otay!

Anyway, we did it on my birthday actually, lol, last Friday, not planned, just when we finally got time!

My husbands father came and lead Daisy out of the stall and walked her right out the gate and down the road to the other pasture where my bro-in-laws horse resides. Well, luckily for Tuff, I was waiting with a bucket of grain and he looked at her and then said, yum!! lol, so we left him in the stall for a few days, no problems, he wasn't exactly happy but not having fits either.

Yesterday afternoon we let the tiger out, ah! He did race around crazily for a few mins, but after about 10 mins he settled down and stopped calling. He did make some PITIFUL neighs looking for Daisy tho, it was so sad!

Anyway, checked on him on the way out to church last night and he was out in the pasture grazing, yay! I've been really worried about weaning him without another horse to keep him company, but he seems fine. He will have a buddy soon, maybe this week, my sister-n-laws colt will be joining him

Anyway, a few pics, and thanks for letting me ramble!

ps, the stall was cleaned out just after pics, dont worry! I dont know why they think they have to COME INSIDE the stall to poo

Buh bye son! lol, does anyone but me get the feeling she's saying GOOD RIDDANCE? lol

"hm, mom's leaving...."

"o well!"

Well, I loved reading about this! Tuff is a doll. Sounds like he is going to be sensible and accepting. Good job, mom.

HAHA, he is! although I wasn't sad about it! I'm not sure what I'm giong to do about the red, guess I'm gonna have to cut it out?? But then it will look chopped, ugh.

thanks BonnieM for the sweet comment!

Edited! I went out and played with him this afternoon and he seems TOTALLY unconcerned! He was quiet and listening very well. We walked around the pasture on the lead, stopping well, we even practiced setting up for the first time and he acted like we'd been doing it for weeks!

I tied him up for a bit, he was pretty antsy, but never pulled on the rope, if he felt pressure he would immediately stop and even step into it, yay! He stood quietly for a bit and I decided to untie him on a good note.

Anyway, pics! I never go out without my camera,

"This is SO fun, mom"
