Talking Good show!

Sorry about not updating on Saturday and yesterday you guys. I was exausted! I feel asleep at 9 on Saturday and yesterday I was too tired to get myself up. lol. It's been a busy weekend but SO worth it!

Here's what happened on Saturday...

I woke up at 8:00 and went up to the barn to finishing clipping Ollie before he was hauled to Windermere. I put his new leather halter on him and he looked so hansome! It's amazing what a little leather can do for looks. lol. I then hooked him up to the crossties and started clipping him. He was good at first but he started to get impatient so he was throwing some fits but I got what I needed to get done with in an hour or so. Then I touched up his wiskers, eye lashes and groomed him then used wipes and a shedding comb, love those things. Ashley and her mom hauled Talent and Steph, Steph is my trainers horse and Talent is a horse she trained but is pretty much her horse, and I hauled Ollie with Olivia's horse. Chatted with Taylor and Olivia on the way to Windermere about horses and what not. I unloaded Ollie and he had the most paranoid look on his face. lol. I don't think I have ever seen him so alert before. lol. He was a little hyper, a little would be an understatement actually. Then I took Ollie to his stall, gave him water, filled it with shaving, and gave him hay. I had a lesson around 3ish so I unloaded all Ollie's tack and grooming equipment and got him ready for the lesson. I got him all tacked up and lead him out in the show arena to do flat work. I was getting ready to mount and he would not stand still what so ever! He was so figitie! lol. Ashley came over and held him for me while I mounted and we walked using only half of the arena until he calmed down. Well, that didn't happen. lol. He felt the need to prance around the arena to strut his stuff I guess... lol. Ashley said she would see if she could get him to calm down so she hopped on and he started to calm down a bit but not much. He was supposed to be practing Hunter and out of no where he starts pulling out Shoulder In and Leg Yield movements and he looked so gorgeous doing them but he wasn't exactly asked to do Dressage so he kinda decided to do it on his own. lol. He likes doing things when he's not asked. lol. Ashley hopped off and I hopped back on and he was still hyper beyond belief and doing his Dressage moves so Ashley suggested that I lunge him so I went in the small arena and lunged him for about 10-15 minutes. That wore him out a bit so we went back out into the big arena and did flat work. He was being relativly good considering he was in a new place and in my opinion he was the best looking horse out there. lol. He had the best headset out there I think... lol. Well, at times he did.... lol. Got done with that so I went back and groomed Ollie down, through his blanket on and then I had to leave to get my show jacket so I did that.

Show day...

Got up at 8:05 thinking I'd have enough time to get up there by 9:00 but it turned out I didn't have enough time so didn't get there till 9:30. I got there and started getting Ollie ready for my shows, which where around 10:30, and once I got him tacked up I went and got myself ready then came back and schooled him over cross poles. He refused a couple times and was rushing quit a bit and going over the last jump I ended up off balance and almost fell off but some how I kept myself in the saddle. lol. Still don't know how.... lol. I kept doing it until he got it right and he started to do it perfectly. I was very happy with my boy. I then had to wait outside because my first class was coming up next. I stood outside but he didn't exactly like the big crowed so he was backing up everywhere, throwing his head, and side stepping. I decided to walk him around and calm him down so I went all the way down to the end of the barn and we just stood there. He was perfectly happy where he was and wanted nothing to do with all the horses that where there. He just wanted to be alone so we just chilled together. lol. It came time to do my jumping class and Ollie would not move from his spot so I had to dismount and then walk him over to the mounting block where he would NOT stand still. My dad was trying to get him to stand still and move over but he kept swinging his butt but eventually I got on him. lol. Everyone probably though Ollie was some nut case and speed or something. lol. That's my boy.... Anyways, right before my class one girl fell, and fell hard, off her horse and ran out crying so that made me feel great! lol. Ollie and I were up next so we trotted in and I heard our name annouced by the judges and got a smile on my face. lol. I'm such a ****! Anyways.... Trotted a circle and off we went. lol. He was rushing a bit but I controled it pretty well and went out of there feeling ok about how we did. I was very proud of him though. He handled himself very well out there. He is going to make a great Jumper some day... I had my second jumping class and went out there and did the same thing just in the opposite direction. I thought that I only had two jumping classes so I figured my last 3 were flat classes. Well, turned out I was wrong and I had an Equitation one next so that was a little surprising but that class went much better than the others. I was done with my jumping classes so while waiting for my last 2 classes, walk/trot/canter, they annouced the top 6 places for the classes and Ollie and I got 6th place and I was very proud of my boy. It was his very first show and he got a ribbon and I wasn't expecting much because he wasn't exactly calm and I knew the show enviroment would be hard on him but he pulled through better than I thought. Last 2 classes where a little frustrating because Ollie was rushing and when we had to walk from a canter Ollie decided he wasn't going to stop so here I am trying to slow him down and he's not slowing down so we're the only ones cantering, how embarrising, but eventually he did. lol. He wouldn't get his right lead either but he needs more work on that so no worries... We ended up getting 2 more 6th places so I guess that's good... I'm proud of him though. He did much better than I expected and this was just an experiment type thing to see how well he did. I stayed and watched everyone else ride and my trainer ride, who ended up trotting out of the arena while ribbons were being handed out because she lost feeling in her arms from pulling on Talent earlier in the day. She was ok though so that's good. She ended up getting reserve champion with her horse Steph so YAY! lol. After all that Ashley's mom hauled Ollie and Talent back to the barn and got Ollie all set there there and then left.

Sorry it was so long. lol. Oops.... I have pictures which my dad is loading up today so I'll have those up soon!
