Good deal for a set up?

Is this a good deal for starting out or just a cheap saddle and set up?

it looks to me like just a cheap set up.... package deals are RARELY for good saddles. well, when tack stores have sales they may sell for example a crosby bridle for free with a crosby saddle... but not the permanent package deals.
make sense?

Another vote cheap. It probally won't fit the horse either as the trees are usually warped. The lowest quaility supplies are used

actually, my friend has the exact same saddle and my saddle is of that brand, They are VERY nice saddles. My bridle from there was also really nice. They are a wholesale company with lots of nice tack and good deals. here is the website if you would like to see what else they have. Tackwholesale.Com - Horse Tack and Horse Supplies Derby Originals is actually a really good brand for cheap, they just aren't stamped with "stubben" or a big swoopy "P" it would be nice to have a saddle like that but for some like me that can't afford that, these are a great packages!!!

yes, well jsut for sake of discussion even if it isn't a trashy quality saddle, you will still need to check the fit on your horse before using it. it may not fit him perfectly and you can do real damage to him without getting a certified person to check for you. the problems with web saddles....

Thanks for all the info. Cassandra the price is in US dollars.

Problem is fitting it to my horse before purchase.. ha ha. Just something I was looking at. I've never done english before and am intersted in trying it out. Is that just a AP saddle? I'm interested in it all so I would have to buy all the different stuff for it wouldn't I. Just a thought when I seen the saddle. Thanks again for your info

Exclamation

solsalia, I looked at that very saddle a few months back...if they still have all the photos where you can look at it from various angles, etc, and read their detailed copy, I THINK (???) that this is supposed to be more of a Close Contact style...I seem to remember that the ad copy says that it's also meant for jumping...and the flaps are a bit forward as well.

Since you are apparently new to English and don't want to spend alot of money in case it's not what you like (and I know about the opposite...I tried Western with an inexpensive saddle...good thing I did, I didn't like it!), then this might be a relatively good idea.

HOWEVER, as the others here are saying, be SURE that the tree isn't warped and that it fits your horse (as well as feeling good to you). If memory serves me correctly, that company gives you some time to try it and if it doesn't fit you or your horse you can return it. Sometime back I spoke to Rene there and that's what she told me. Maybe you should call her and see what their policy is?

Personally, I think I'd direct you to someplace like Equus Now where you can get a new Wintec with a whole package of fittings, etc., for a good price. AND they have a wonderful trial policy! Also true for TrumbullMountain! And The Hitchingpost, too! Cruise the web for deals.

With about six different designs of Wintecs, it's worth a gamble there...they resell well, too, in case you don't like English. You can go with a Wintec 500, or if you want the equisuede on the seat and you want an All Purpose that's comfy, go for a Wintec 2000. There's the equileather Close Contact and the Pro Jumper if you'd rather go see what that kind of riding is like.

I encourage you to give English a try!
