Good Day Out :)

2 Seconds,

2 Thirds,

2 Fifths.

Thrilled.

Arrived at grounds at 6:10am in the freezing cold and pitch black. The only way to do a horse show, right?

He was fairly calm up until the loudspeaker started going and everyone began to mount up. Then he became a bit anxious.. wouldn't stand still, looking everywhere etc.

Hopped on him, was really almost shaky (he's really still a baby, he was so nervous) as I warmed him up but he did okay, then I had to line up for a bit for rego. This gave him a chance to wind up some more.

Didn't realize I was on first so got thrown into my led class with him going off his rocket. He behaved well and we placed second (I was so happy with this considering he looks like **** atm).

Then I hopped on him and I could barely walk him without tantrums, he was going into overload with anxiety I think; all the noise and fresh ponies was giving him a buzz. So lunged the **** outta him for twenty minutes. Worked a charm- he got all his fizziness out and I was able to jump on him and go in my next three classes no problems, placing another 2nd and two 3rds.

The rest of the day was good, FREEZING cold but good.

Any other horse and I would have been disappointed with the results that he didn't win a class or didn't claim a Champ or Reserve, but I 100% can honestly say I don't care, he behaved beautifully for the most part even if he wasn't right on the money in all his workouts. This was his first competition in 11 months and second outing in 11 months. And prior to that I'd only taken him out maybe 4-5 times, so we're still adjusting to our competitive side

No bucks, only one little pigroot and no rears. Pretty stoked.

Thought I'd share, I'm very happy with my day so couldn't resist

Congratulations! You must be super proud.
I'm glad I didn't have to get up at that time today!
