Give Life-Gave Life

The Red Cross Blood Drive came to my school today. I volunteered. I went at 8:00...finally left at around 9:30 LOL It took forever to get the thing started. They weren't ready at 8:00.

My veins are small so it took awhile to find it. And then I was really slow LOL It took about 20 minutes.

I got my free juice and snacks(tasty!). I was feeling ok. But after awhile I started feeling dizzy and light headed.

I'm still not feeling great. I don't feel like eating much but I'm snacking and drinking. I just feel so horrible right now. But I'm glad I donated.

I'm waiting for my brother to come home and help take care of me. Parents are away so he's living with me until they get home.

Good for you - they won;t take my blood - scared of mad cow disease.

I used to give blood all the time - I used to find that drinking some water before I went really helped.

In most states you have to be 17 years old and weigh at least 110lbs. Some states allow 16 years old.

The people working it were very nice. One lady over saw everything and checked on everyone every few minutes. I liked being looked over.

I think I over did it today too. I had work with the minis so I went and cleaned stalls and free lunged them all, but I tried to keep it easy and my boss let me take as many breaks as I needed(basically after each stall I went inside, sat down and drank some Powerade). Then I had physical therapy. I was SO tired...I was falling asleep while they had heat on my back...but my exercises are hard and took a bit more outa me...

But I'm glad I donated. But I must admit...I did it because my boyfriend was doing it and he got me thinking about it. Whatever it takes, right? LOL

I don't weigh enough to donate.
I'm kinda happy though...it gives me a good excuse.
