Girths

I am thinking about getting a new girth, I don't really like my rope one, I am thinking about getting a neoprene one, but they are so exspensive, are they worth it, or are the fleece ones just as good.

WHat ones do you use???

What ones do you prefer???

Are you talking about a girth (english) or cinch (western)
For western I personally like the rope ones. I used a neoprene several years ago and it caused sores on my horse after 1 ride so I have shyed away from the since. However I do appear to be one of the few that has had problems, it might just be because my horse has sensitive skin.
For english I like good ole leather.

Western, but I call it a girth LOL, I have a rope one right know, it always is twisted and it gets junk in it, maybe I should just keep it to save money.

I ride english. and, I have a really nice neoprene grith that I love...but, I also have a great leather one. Most of the time, in the summer, I'll use the neoprene..because it's breathable...and in the winter, I'll use my leather one.

Well, they all have their good points
Rope- very breathable
neoprene- I've never used one before, so I don't know, but they look nice and look comfortable
fleece- very comfortable and padded

I like neoprenes. My instructor has one that she's had for 3 years and its still works perfectly. They also dont chaffe the horse as much. And they feel really cool. lol. Rope ones chaffe a lot and get dirty fast. I have never tried a fleece one before.

I have a Professional's Choice Neoprene cinch and I absolutely love it!

I've seen the fleece ones cause a lot of sores around here because dirt seems to be attracted to them like magnets and they are very hard clean and the fleece gets all matted.
