Talking Ginger update !!

Referring to post
We diidd itttt =D

Okay well we have been doing nothing but 'dressage' work. And I have to have to haveeeee to say I am so super happy with her! She’s responding so well I feel like I’m riding a different horse! I still haven’t gotten my camera back I haven't been able to get out there to pick it up. -hides- BUT I goggled around and found comparison pictures. And as SOON as I get my camera back I will gladly post pictures.

We've been doing a lot of what was suggested on that long tedious thread.

Trot poles, circles, figure 8’s, and shoulder in, haunches out. We do a lot of diagonal work as well, as in cantering sideways, idk what the correct term is for it shoulder in/out? idk lol.

She’s been on the bit and collecting like a super star! She's been stretching her neck down nice and low for me and shes been holding herself so nicley. She shorten and lenghten's her stride as i ask too. AND we've been doing ton's of transition's and we've almost got the canter down to a smooth sitting trot down ! She's just doing phenominal. She walks / trots and canters sideways and crosses her legs its so neat.Like side stepping in fast foward ? lol idk

Im just so excited with how well she's doing i had to post!

ALSO have to add shes on her new feed program and has gained already and its only been a week =].

okay so heres how she's going
I didnt want to clutter the thread with pics so i linked them

Okay enough comparison pix you get the idea.

PS there was a thread around some where about the 'good spots horses sweat' . What spots are the spots you should see sweat on to know she is truley working well in the mist of **** collection / stretching work? I really feel her stretching and moving more foward but some times i wonder if she's behind my leg? Not too sure but she is working so hard latley and really collecting herself it makes me wonder what the exsact translation of 'behind the leg' is.

Hate to say it but i'm doubting she's really moving and tracking up like in those pictures. I don't see HOW she could.... These are all EXTREMELY well trained horses who are obviously in tip-top shape....

Not to mention how can we comment on it when there is no accurate pictures...

Glad its going well though...

... not to mention the first two and the last one are behind the vertical, which is NOT what you want.

I'd LOVE to see pictures, because there is no way as your mare does NOT have the muscles and couldn't of gained the muscles to do it properly between now and your last set of pictures... You may THINK she's moving like that, but you can't tell for sure until you see yourself... I"m sure you'd be suprised.....

Woot! That's great how well she's doing. It's awesome when they start getting things down and you really feel an improvement. Keep up the good work!

Let me first say I'm happy that you're feeling good about this

But I have to echo the sentiments of xlilxonex, unfortunately. PLEASE don't take that as thinking you are lying - I don't think you are for a minute.

But the comment about the horses you posted being well-trained is very correct - they are soft, supple horses who have a great deal more training than your mare has, ridden by riders who have a great deal more knowledge.

It's very easy for someone who just doesn't have the knowledge to think that what they are feeling looks like X, when really it looks like Y and isn't correct at all. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone very excited because they finally got their horse "round and on the bit" and all the horse is doing is curling his neck and sucking back. It's a VERY common misconception.

I'm very happy that you are continue to work on this, and it does sound like maybe you're at least making progress. I'm very much looking forward to pictures and video, because many of us would really like to try to help
