Unhappy getting a little bored....

Im kind of bored with riding in circles. All I do is ride(walk, trot, canter) in a circle.... Its getting very boring. I need suggestions on what to do. My dad doesnt let me jump(even though I do it in secret, shhhhh!!!) I would prefer to do it bareback. I need somthing new to do, no showing though. Any suggestions??

Can you trail ride? Or maybe play games on horseback?

Trail rides are always a blast. Do some figure 8s or get a friend and ride some drill work. Get a book of games and see if there is anything you can do.

Go for a trail ride! If there aren't any trails near you, could you trailer to some?
*Try riding bareback w/dollar bills under your thighs. Try not to lose them.
*Teach your horse a cool trick like shaking hands.
*Bring some "scary" things down to the arena and practice not being spooky. Tarps, plastic bags, spray bottles, bag of cans.
*If you ride western, hook a rope to the horn and drag something behind you. I've used tires, bags of cans, and buckets before.

Here's a website I found with some games: http://www.raspberryridge.com/Kids GamesOnHorseback.htm
And there are some fun-looking tips from Parelli about 3/4 of the way down this site: http://www.todayshorse.com/Articles/RidingAsFun.htm

Have fun! Hope these help!

Those are some good suggestions! Try dragging barrels, logs, etc. behind you. Walk over tarps, wood, etc. Shake some rocks in a milk jug, crackle a plastic bottle, etc. Be creative. You can some fun while you are exposing your horse to various items, going on trail rides, etc.

Best wishes!

Do you take lessons? Lessons give you a goal and they always inform me what to work on with me and my horse.
