Talking Gettin a tree less saddle

Im really interested in Tree less saddles. Ive been looking at them alot. I ride MANY different horses and a lot of times i have to ride them in an ill fitted saddle. My saddle fits my girl, but not the people horses who i ride, and theyre saddles fit worst then mine does

What do you guys think of them?

What are the down sides?

IS there any way it can be bad for the horse?

I dont want to go spend a lot of money on one, then find out it was a mistake.

Thanks

I have never rode in one, but the The ones I saw I didn't like, they looked cheap, but that might be because I like the look of leather and a solid tree.

I've ridden in a tree less saddle. They are very comfortable. I dont find them cheaply made. I'd go with a Bob Marshall ,this might be the only make. I dind't relly find anything wrong except I used it on a rather round horse so it always wanted to slide over, which any saddle would but it seemed it wanted to a little more then a regular saddle. I wouldn't mind having one but I have my western saddles, dont need another.

Depends on what you want to do as well.

I rode in one treeless saddle, it was HORRIBLE on the horse for Barrel racing.

Do'nt do it for roping either......they have semi-treeless, haven't seen one yet, but someone said it was easier to perform with....

I was thinking about getting a treeless saddle. I talked to my saddle guy, and he said one of the downsides was that, if you ever need to have anything replaced, you might as well go buy a new saddle because they are extremely expensive to fix.

well, you don't have to get a treeless saddle for your own saddle to fit them you could just buy a withers relief pad and then the saddle should fit them fine no matter what, that what i do with most of the horse i ride.

If you get a treeless saddle ANSUR is the ONLY way to go! They are NOT cheaply made at all (hence the expensive price tag!) They are amazing saddles. Plus with Ansur's you get to try one for I think its either a month or 90 days before you decide to keep it. If I could afford it would DEFINATLEY buy one! My dressage trainer (who rides with Grand Prix Trainer/Rider Sandi Cohaney) rides in one all he way up to Grand Prix. The difference I have seen in the way horses move is amazing. Horses that are stuff and often hollow that brace against the bit often become totally different horses, with a reaching smoother gait and increased willingness to use their backs properly. I would just adore an Anur if I could get one. You can read all about them at www.ansursaddlery.com Hope this helps! PM me if you have any more questions I might be able to help you with
