get picture next to my screen name

How do I get a picture next to my screen name, so when I post it shows?

If you are talking about the pic that is under your name when you post, that is your avatar. To change/add a pic, go to your User CP. On the left hand side there are a bunch of options. Edit/change avatar is one of them. If you have under a certain amount of posts you can only use one from HGS. Once you have more posts you can upload a pic from your computer.

If I upload into say the picture gallery from my computer can I then use it as my avatar?

you can upload straight from your computer..when you go to upload a avatar..you hit the browse button. That should take you to your documents. You access your photos from that and than click the one you want

Yes you can, but full members can only use the stock avatars. If you want a custom one you need to fulfill the requirements to become a Junior member.

Members start at Junior than become full

Oops. I was thinking full, jr. sr. but jr then full makes more sense.
