Post Games to play with young horses, or with all horses

heya, i like to play games with my horses...such as...putting a peice of felt/black bin bag on the ground, then they have to walk over it, if they do give them a treat or a pat! then they learn to walk ova it by themselves, without shying. also, stuff like going in and out of cones, just mental and physical games, because those games get horses thinking, and reduces boredom. anyone know any sites? or any games to play??/????????//?/?//?// red_hors

I LOVE GAMES!!

Has anyone ever played 'cushion polo'?

The way we played it was you had two teams with say 5 in each team. One person out of each team was the goalie.

one member of each team would have stood at 'X' (on their horse) The referee threw the cushion in the air and one of them had to catch it. The object was for your team to get the cushion into goal.

You weren't allowed to put it in your teeth or hold it in your hand. (so it went under your arm or leg or bum). You were allowed to pass it to another one of your team members or throw it into goal but that was the only time you could have it in your hand.

The other team had to take the cusion off your team and try and get it into their goals.

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO 'BUMP' EACHOTHER!!!!

Each chukka lasted 5 or 10 mnnutes.

The winning team was the one that scored the most goals.

It can be very noisy with everyone shouting and screaming at each other and its best played with 'team'players.

By that i mean people who will pass the cushion to other members of their team to assist in scoring a goal and not just hog the cushion and let the opposing team take it just cos they want to have the cushion!

One last thing. You get points for every goal scored and points deducted from your team for droping the cushion.

Ihope i'v explained this alright. i loved it!

Games would be so much fun. It seems so much more laid back and just pure fun, and rather than the winning factor being by what a judge thinks, most are timed or has something to do with #'s so its all about facts (#'s and times) not judges opinions. I dont kno if there are any games around my area tho. frown
